Opening a new restaurant often brings a mix of excitement and nerves, but for BelAroma Bistro, the recent ribbon cutting was something truly special. It was our very first official ceremony, and it stirred deep emotions for us. This project represents more than just a business; it is a dream nurtured through years of experience, challenges, and a shared passion for authentic, clean Mediterranean food. Here, we want to share the story behind BelAroma Bistro, the people who made it possible, and the values that guide everything we do.
A Community Celebration Full of Gratitude
The ribbon cutting event was beautifully organized by the Port Orange South Daytona Chamber of Commerce. Their support helped us bring together our team, friends, and community members to mark this milestone. We owe a heartfelt thanks to everyone who showed up with enthusiasm and spirit, especially our dedicated team who brings passion and care to the bistro every day.
Pastor Khalil from Beachside Church blessed our opening and our hands to serve the community. His words reminded us of the deeper purpose behind our work: to nourish not only bodies but also hearts. We also want to recognize Travis, NSB Studios, New Visions Painting, and the entire New Vision Business Park team. Their hard work and collaboration helped turn our vision into reality.
A special shoutout goes to Shane Scofield and Sarah for the stunning mural outside the bistro. This artwork adds warmth and personality to our space, making it feel like a true home for everyone who visits.
Who We Are and What We Stand For
We are Anca and Jo Vagos, a Romanian and Portuguese couple who found a way to bring a slice of the Mediterranean to New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Growing up, both of us experienced the joy of homemade food that brings people together. When we moved here, we realized how much we missed not just the flavors but the feeling of home — the warmth and connection around the table.
Our journey has not been without challenges, including health struggles that reshaped how we think about food. We wanted to do more than just serve clean food; we wanted to be transparent and intentional about every ingredient. This led us to create BelAroma Bistro, a place where you can trust what’s on your plate.
